National Rifle Association - Basic Pistol Shooting Course

8-hour Fun and Interactive Class includes:
• Basics of Pistol Shooting & Shooting Fundamentals
• Safe gun handling and operation
• Classroom and outdoor range time
• Learning to shoot revolvers and semi-automatic pistols
• Hands on practice to develop and improve shooting skills
• How to select a handgun for yourself

Cost: $75.00 (includes class time, training materials, and all range fees)

There will be basic hearing and eye protection available for student use if you currently do not have your own.

Bring a handgun and 50 rounds of target ammunition.  The firearm MUST be in a case or range bag.

Please let me know what firearm and ammunition you will bring to the class.

If you do not own a handgun see note below*.

*Note: Students who do not have firearms yet need to let me know in advance of class so arrangements can be made. No live ammunition is allowed in the classroom. Leave all live ammunition outside of the classroom.

NRA Certified Basic Pistol Shooting Course:

Teaches the basic knowledge, skills, and attitude for owning and operating a pistol safely.

This course is at least 8-hours long and includes classroom and range time learning to shoot revolvers and semi-automatic pistols. Students learn NRA’s rules for safe gun handling; pistol parts and operation; ammunition; shooting fundamentals; range rules; shooting from the bench rest position, and two handed standing positions; cleaning the pistol; and continued opportunities for skill development. Students will receive the NRA Guide to the Basics of Pistol Shooting handbook, NRA Gun Safety Rules brochure, Winchester/NRA Marksmanship Qualification booklet, take a Basics of Pistol Shooting Student Examination, and course completion certificate.
